Lime Paint Colours
Modern paints dry and cure by forming a film on the surface. The film is formed when the solvent, in our case always water, evaporates.
However, lime paint dries and cures differently. The lime reacts with the CO2 in the air to form limestone. It is essentially a completely CO2 neutral process. Lime paint is made from limestone and in liquid form it returns to its basic form during the carbonation process.
This makes lime paint the most environmentally friendly paint available and the best paint to use in renovation projects when it comes to moisture control. Lime paint has very low steam diffusion value, making it extremely vapour permeable. Lime paint is also anti-bacterial, anti-allergenic and leaves a beautiful textured finish.
We only use real lime paint and therefore the colours are limited. This is because the alkaline properties of lime paint are not compatible with some pigments. Below is our colour chart with 110 colours. All made with stable iron oxide pigments.
